Principal Welcome

Welcome to Christ the King Catholic School (CKS), where our educational philosophy is built on Saint John Bosco's preventative system of reason, religion and loving kindness.  Since our doors opened in 1949, Christ the King has been helping students grow academically, emotionally and spiritually.  I know this first hand, because I am an alumnus of this Salesian school.

While many things have changed since my time as a student, most recently the construction of a new educational building in 2013 and a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence designation in 2011 and 2020, the overwhelming spirit of community continues to permeate the halls.  Students, parents, teachers and staff are more than just educational collaborators, we are a family:  we pray together each morning to start the school day, we gather every Wednesday to celebrate Mass, and we combine our efforts in service to many local and international projects – showing that an accumulation of many little acts of kindness can combine to make one large difference in the lives of others.

While it is no small feat gathering together over 500 children ranging in age from 4 to 14, it is well worth it to see the relationships created among our students.  These relationships help students feel a sense of belonging and safety, which is necessary for learning.  We work daily to encourage students to be part of a rigorous environment that gives them confidence to challenge themselves academically.  Our graduates do just that – challenge themselves at area high schools like H.B. Plant, Robinson International Baccalaureate, the Academy of the Holy Names, Tampa Catholic, Jesuit, Tampa Prep and others.  Wherever the journey leads them, our Lions are prepared for success through the spiritual and academic foundation built at Christ the King.
