Often mistaken for the real-life Disney princess Jasmine from the movie Aladdin, Mrs. Janyll Arambulo is the leader of our EC4A Lions. She is a huge advocate of project-based learning, loves to pull out her alter ego from Britain to entertain her class, and her students are so excited to see what she has in store for them every day. We know she’s looking forward to the arrival of her baby girl, but in the meantime, she is a guiding light for 22 little people who love to learn. Half of our rock-star 5th grade teaching team is Tennessee-native, tractor driving Mrs. Sherry Hales. She serves as an important coach for the CKS writing program and can bring the Boston Tea Party to life like nothing you’ve ever seen! Students describe her as funny and caring, and in a pivotal year like 5th grade, they are lucky to have someone like Mrs. Hales to help lead them on the journey to middle school. Click above to read more about this treasured teacher, her interesting hidden talents(!) and why she loves teaching 5th grade.
Join us in welcoming Mrs. Suzanne Crawford to one of most joyful places on earth – CKS Kindergarten! We are so blessed to have this veteran teacher (with many of those years in Kindergarten!) to nurture our little Lions as we started this dramatically different year. Her warm smile (even behind the mask!) and sweet demeanor has made her an instant hit with her students. Click above to find out more about this USF grad and the things that bring her joy.
Community is a word often used to describe CKS–and no one builds community better than our veteran middle school teacher Mr. John Waters. This true gentleman is quick to share an inspiring story or a word of praise. He makes a mean brownie, can coach the heck out of a basketball team, and is one of those teachers that you will want to stay in touch with long after you graduate from CKS. After some time away from us to get back to good health, we are blessed to have him back full time in 6th grade! Click above to learn more!
Meet one of the newest members of the CKS family, music teacher Mrs. Elaine LaPierre, affectionately known as Mrs. La! This Broadway enthusiast’s list of shows attended will make even lifelong New Yorkers envious–and we can’t wait to see how this will translate to our CKS performances! Mrs. La has risen to the challenge of these unusual times by bringing her rockin’ music classroom (cart) to each homeroom to prepare our students for the day they can perform in front of an audience again! We welcome Mrs. Kristen Maduri this year in a new role–4th grade Language Arts and Social Studies! This little bundle of energy delivered a dynamic elementary Spanish program last year and we are so happy to bring her back into the classroom as a lead teacher. Read why this teacher is right where she always thought she’d be and the advice she has for students starting this unusual year. Click above to learn more!
CKS alumni across the country will tell you that this Mountain Dew-loving middle school teacher has helped hone the writers of the future since 1997.
