School Counselor

Christ the King Catholic School (CKS) is seeking a full-time school counselor for the 2020-2021 school year. A parish school with an enrollment of over 500 students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade, CKS has fostered an environment of academic excellence and spiritual enrichment since 1949. While school administration is currently comprised of laity, the Salesian charism remains a hallmark of the school, due to the significant of the impact made by the 30 year service of the Salesian sisters.
 
All staff members are familiar with the teachings of St. John Bosco and his preventative method of reason, religion and loving kindness. The teacher work day is from 7:30am to 3:30pm every day, except for Thursday, when the teacher work day ends at 4:30pm for professional development. The school counselor works with administration, teachers, parents, and students to maintain an environment where students feel safe academically, emotionally, and spiritually.
 
This position includes supervisory duties, classroom guidance, small group counseling, individual counseling, formulating student support plans, and coordinating standardized testing. Candidates must hold or be eligible to hold the proper School Counseling credentials. Qualified candidates will also have to complete a Level II background screening and Safe Environment Training prior to being hired.

Kindergarten Teacher

Christ the King Catholic School (CKS) is seeking a full-time kindergarten teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. A parish school with an enrollment of over 500 students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade, CKS has fostered an environment of academic excellence and spiritual enrichment since 1949. While school administration is currently comprised of laity, the Salesian charism remains a hallmark of the school, due to the significant of the impact made by the 30 year service of the Salesian sisters.
 
All staff members are familiar with the teachings of St. John Bosco and his preventative method of reason, religion and loving kindness. The teacher work day is from 7:30am to 3:30pm every day, except for Thursday, when the teacher work day ends at 4:30pm for professional development. Teachers are responsible for delivering approved standards-based content, managing a full-time teaching assistant, and providing active supervision of students. 
 
Candidates must currently hold or be eligible to hold a valid teaching certificate for Elementary Education or Early Childhood Education. Qualified candidates will also have to complete a Level II background screening and Safe Environment Training prior to being hired.
