CKS offers summer programs for academics, enrichment, sports and fun! Whether you want your child to fine-tune their academic skills, explore their creativity or challenge their minds, CKS has a variety of engaging course offerings to choose from!
Camp CKS is open to CKS students entering Kindergarten-8th grade ONLY.
Week 1: June 6-10
Week 2: June 13-17
Full Day*: 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Half Day Morning Session: 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
Half Day Afternoon Session: 1-4 p.m.
*Full day students will attend Lunch Bunch between 12-1 p.m.

Camp Descriptions
Rising Kindergarten (THIS IS A FULL DAY PROGRAM, 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. | Cohen/Fogarty):
- Week 1 – Winter Fun! Slide into learning fun with Winter-Themed activities! We will be exploring winter weather and animals, while snowy, glittery crafts will keep us cool. We will also review literacy and math skills, such as throwing ‘snowballs’ to practice adding and subtracting and ice fishing for words. STEM projects are also planned, including a snowman melt investigation!
- Week 2 – Summer Fun! Dive into learning fun with Summer-Themed activities! We will beat the heat and explore all things summer. How about crafting some campfire handprints or creating some ocean creatures? We will review literacy and math skills, like counting watermelon seeds or writing words in sand. STEM projects are also planned, such as showing the effectiveness of sunscreen to guard against the sun.
Around the World Camp (Rising 1st grade | Buckley/Baker): Discover cultures from countries all around the world at Around the World Camp! Students will learn about various countries through food, music, games, crafts, and stories. We hope that students will finish the camp with a new appreciation of different countries and have lots of fun! (SAME ACTIVITIES BOTH WEEKS)
American Girls Camp: (Rising 1st/2nd grade | Maduri/Palmer): Calling all dolls!!! Grab your favorite American Girl or any other well-loved 18-inch doll and come on over to this fun-filled camp. We will enjoy crafts, stories, and other fun activities, making memories all week long. Some Camp activities will include Wacky Wednesday, Movie/Pajama Day, storytelling and a picnic. The week ends with a dress up day and Tea Party! (SAME ACTIVITIES BOTH WEEKS)
Craft Camp (Rising 3rd/4th grade | Mysak/Cardillo): Tie dye shirts, dream catchers, and keychains are only a few of the creations that we will make! Create your own bowl, make friendship bracelets, and decorate your own tote bag. Each day will be packed with colorful, fun-filled activities. We will make it, and you can take it! (SAME ACTIVITIES BOTH WEEKS)
Lion’s Café Cooking Camp (Rising 3rd/4th grade | Rodriguez/Cooney): Get ready to take off on a culinary trip around the world! Be sure to pack your appetite as we create classic dishes from Italy, Mexico, England, and beyond! Students will learn basic techniques, as well as time-saving tricks and kitchen safety. (SAME ACTIVITIES BOTH WEEKS)
Young Authors Camp (Rising 3rd-5th grade | Rodriguez/Cooney): Students will hone their creative writing skills by crafting their own storybook or graphic novel. We will spend time developing their plot, characters, and setting and finish the week by publishing their very own book! (STUDENT MAY ATTEND ONE OR BOTH WEEKS)
Christmas Art Camp (Rising 1st/2nd & 3rd-8th grade | Wilson): Ho, ho, ho! It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas – in June!!! This summer art camp will be all about Christmas arts and crafts. It’s Mrs. Wilson’s favorite time of the year and we will be making a variety of projects and decorations using clay, watercolors, craft supplies, etc. The more the merrier! (SAME ACTIVITIES BOTH WEEKS)
Summer Olympic Camp (Rising 2nd-4th grade | Mysak/Cardillo): Calling all Olympic hopefuls: tighten your sneakers, fill up your water bottles and get ready for some Olympic game style fun! Campers will have the opportunity to go for the gold playing with frisbees, running relays, and playing other classic yard games. They will also cool off with some indoor minute to win it games. (SAME ACTIVITIES BOTH WEEKS)
Lion's Cheer & Phonics Camp (Rising 1st/2nd grade | Maduri): Let's cheer and dance our way through phonics. This camp will combine cheerleading, phonics, and spelling. We will work on building listening skills through active play, teamwork, and word study games.
Basketball (Rising 1st-8th grade | Kroll/Kosiba)

Camp CKS Disciplinary Policy
Summer camp is meant to be a fun, educational and recreational activity. For the benefit of all campers, it is important that children behave appropriately during camp. If it becomes necessary to take disciplinary action, the following steps will be taken:

1st incident: The camper will receive a verbal warning and an explanation of why the behavior is inappropriate.

2nd incident: Staff will determine an appropriate consequence for the camper’s actions (examples may include a “time out” or exclusion from participating in an activity). The camper’s parent will be notified of their behavior when they arrive to pick up the child.

3rd incident: The child will be excused from camp without a tuition refund.
Summer camp leaders reserve the right to restrict any child from summer camp following a first incident in cases of serious behavior problems.
Camper Code of Conduct
In order to maintain a safe and peaceful camp environment, we require parents and campers to read and understand the importance of abiding by the following code of conduct:

I will follow the camp schedule and the instructions given by camp leaders and volunteers.

I will respect camp property, camp leader, camp volunteers and other campers by not using foul language, name calling or fighting. I will follow all safety rules set forth by the camp leaders and remain in designated camp areas at all times.

During camp hours, I will turn off my cell phone and other electronic devices and not text or access the internet on wearable technology.
Authorization of Treatment: I hereby give my permission to the medical personnel selected by the camp director to order treatment and necessary transportation for my child. In the event I cannot be reached in an emergency, I hereby give my permission to the physician to secure and administer treatment, including authorization for my child named above.
Release Statement: I hereby affirm that my child is in good health and physically capable of performing the required activities of camp. In consideration of Christ the King Catholic School accepting my child and to the extent permitted and provided by State Law, I hereby release and forever discharge the State of Florida, its units, agents and employees from all claim of liability for any damages or injuries which may be sustained while my child is at camp.
Photo Release: I hereby give my permission for my child’s picture to be used by Christ the King Catholic School for use in publications or video programs.
Release of Minors: All campers are released at the end of camp to their parent/guardian or one of the individuals listed on their form. NO EXCEPTIONS! The camp will release the camper to either parent/guardian listed on the application unless directed by a court to do otherwise.
Camp Reminders
DROP OFF/PICK UP:

Early drop off (only if pre-registered): 8:00 AM in front car line (by school office)

Regular drop off: begins at 8:45 AM

Winter Fun & Summer Fun classes drop off and pick up in the back car line

Regular pick up: 4 PM in the front car line
-
Late pick up (only if pre-registered): No Later Than 5 PM in the cafeteria
*All 12 Noon pick ups or 1 PM drop offs are at the front office
WHAT TO WEAR:

Cool & comfortable are key! Shorts, athletic apparel, but no swimwear.

Students MUST wear closed toe athletic shoes - NO FLIP FLOPS or SANDALS allowed for safety reasons

Soccer Camp will receive additional information on shoes/additional equipment from Mr. Allende via email
SNACKS & DRINKS: Please pack your child a snack and a drink for EACH class they are attending. It is very hot during camp, so make sure you send them with plenty of water!
LUNCH BUNCH FOR FULL DAY CAMPERS:

If your child is registered for a full day of camp, please make sure you pack your child a lunch.

We will have a supervised lunch bunch and recess from 12:00 – 1:00 PM

Students will eat in the cafeteria

Please DO NOT drop off food from outside restaurants.
CAMP CKS T-SHIRTS:
-
Your child will receive ONE Camp CKS t-shirt which we would like them to wear on Fridays

Please email me if you have a size problem, or don’t receive a shirt – if you signed up late, we may not have enough extras for your child.
ELECTRONICS POLICY: Cell phones and other electronic devices must be shut off and stored during Camp classes, per Camper Code of Conduct.
