Dynamic Leaps. Enthusiastic Learners.
The transformative years of Kindergarten through 2nd grade usher in a new sense of wonder, learning and joy. As students embark on a journey of discovery, their teachers guide them to greater confidence through “learning by doing” and emphasize the critical thinking skills required for future success.
“I have always known that my children were in the best hands at CKS, and five years later, this place continues to amaze us! The teachers are incredible, the sense of family is undeniable and it even extends beyond the classroom. Imagine my surprise one Saturday morning when I looked up to see my daughter's teacher cheering her on during her softball game. To me, this exemplifies how CKS is not just a school–it is a family! And it's a family that I could never imagine raising my kids without.”

Interactive learning is the hallmark of Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade, when students are encouraged in all aspects of child development – social, emotional, intellectual, spiritual and physical. Through an appropriately challenging curriculum, our teachers support the development of these emerging confident readers, creative writers and inquisitive, thoughtful mathematicians. Students grow in their love of God and are inspired to view the world from the perspective of loving kindness, which shows in their relationships with friends and teachers and helps create the “service for others” culture that permeates our school.
Our students come to us as digital natives and many are already adept in the technological world. Through the integration of SMART boards in every classroom, iPad carts and the computer lab, students sharpen their computer skills and understand technology’s place in education.
Exploration, discovery and innovation bring our STEM lab to life for our students as they explore the basics of coding, the physics of floatation and the engineering behind robotics. The opportunity to problem solve in groups brings a whole new meaning to critical thinking and hands-on education.
